"STERNSCHNUPPEN" is the result of an intense compositional exploration by Eva Kess, a musician based in Switzerland and active internationally. Over the course of a year, she crafted this work for a lineup comprising piano trio and string quartet.
In "STERNSCHNUPPEN," Eva Kess delves into the musical fusion of genre boundaries, viewing jazz as a hybrid style and incorporating elements from classical and Brazilian music.
"Through my eventful life story, I've developed an openness and love for various types of music. My perspective on music transcends genre boundaries; I perceive music as simply music. Similarly, my worldview operates beyond national borders and national identities; I see people as people. One could also describe me as an Adult Third Culture Kid," says Eva Kess.

"Eva Kesselring’s music seems to effortlessly find the balance between disparate worlds. Floating ethereal harmonies mingle with understated driving rhythmic grooves, simplicity and virtuosity converse with one another, and throughout one is left feeling that this music is a very cohesive whole, the result of a very clear vision and sharp focus." - Jeremy Harman, Sirius Quartet
"Eva Kess names her music 'Sternschnuppen' ('Shooting Stars') - a metaphor that could not be more apt. A fleeting, irreproducible moment that leaves deep traces and brings unspoken desires into consciousness." - David Leuthold
