The Police Orchestra Bavaria, based in the state capital Munich, is the professional symphonic wind orchestra of the Bavarian Police. It consists of 45 trained professional musicians who see themselves as a link between the police and the citizens. Since 2006, the orchestra has been under the direction of the General Music Director of the Bavarian Police, Prof. Johann Mösenbichler. In the service of a good cause, the Police Orchestra Bavaria performs around 50 charity concerts annually for social, charitable, and cultural purposes throughout the state. During these charitable events, the orchestra collaborates with associations, foundations, as well as cultural and tourism offices. The orchestra's notable references include the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, the Avantgarde Festival for contemporary music in Munich, and the Munich Opera Festival.
