product description
In October 2022, the Polizeiorchester Bayern releases a new album titled "Heavenly Timbres."
The Polizeiorchester Bayern is the professional symphonic wind orchestra of the Bavarian Police. It comprises 45 trained professional musicians from fourteen nations and serves as a link between the police and the citizens. Since 2006, the ensemble has been under the direction of General Music Director of the Bavarian Police, Prof. Johann Mösenbichler. In the service of a good cause, the Polizeiorchester Bayern performs up to 50 benefit concerts annually for social, charitable, and cultural purposes throughout Bavaria. As part of these charitable events, the orchestra collaborates with associations, foundations, as well as cultural and tourism offices, and has already generated charitable proceeds of over a quarter of a million euros multiple times. Some of the orchestra's notable performances include appearances at the Munich Opera Festival, the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, the German Music Festival, as well as concerts in Berlin, Budapest, and Brussels. The Polizeiorchester Bayern is a member of the Bavarian Orchestral Academy.
The classic "Amazing Grace," originating from the 18th century, is also featured on the album. Lars J. Lange arranged the piece for soprano and wind orchestra at the request of the Polizeiorchester Bayern, allowing the sung text to resonate beautifully with the audience through a transparent and delicate instrumental setting.
