Olivia Trummer was born in 1985 in Stuttgart into a family of musicians. At the age of 4, she began her classical piano training and simultaneously discovered her curiosity to express herself through improvisation and composition. She studied jazz piano and classical piano at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, graduating with honors in both disciplines. She continued her jazz piano studies with a scholarship from the DAAD at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. The formative years spent in the jazz metropolis of New York, as well as her close connection to classical music, have always served as sources of inspiration for her.

Particularly with the "Olivia Trummer Trio," the trained pianist also gains attention as a singer and songwriter, being compared to Esperanza Spalding by the international press. The bridging of jazz and classical music is also reflected in her project series "Classical To Jazz" and is also a key part of her versatile musical work, which has been documented on six albums.
