product description
Olivia Trummer - Piano; Bodek Janke - Drums; Antonio Miguel - Double Bass
feat. Matthias Schriefl - Trumpet, Flugelhorn
Musical Certainty
On her third album "Nobody knows," Olivia Trummer takes a decisive step forward compared to her previous albums. In addition to her mature piano playing and her creativity in dense and sophisticated musical ideas, Olivia Trummer also introduces herself as a singer for the first time: "Nobody knows" contains four songs that she interprets catchy and unobtrusively, elegantly and confidently connecting her voice with her piano playing. Just like the music, the lyrics also have a noticeable depth, which is conveyed with ease and naturalness, thus creating a clear and very personal touch. Naturally, "Nobody knows" consists exclusively of original compositions.
The album was created following several trips abroad (including an intense one-year study visit to the Manhattan School of Music in New York City), which brought Olivia Trummer to a new level both musically and personally. "Nobody knows" Olivia Trummer - the statement of a musician who continues to establish herself, revealing her unusual versatility step by step to the audience.
Olivia Trummer can rely on several years of collaboration with her musical companions: Bodek Janke on drums, percussion, and tabla, as well as Matthias Schriefl on trumpet and flugelhorn - two of the most established and creative musicians in the European jazz scene - were already part of the ensemble on "Westwind" (Bestenliste 3/2008 - Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik). The new man on double bass, Antonio Miguel from Spain, provides a solid foundation and contributes powerfully and harmoniously to the ensemble.

Press:
"At the end of June, she completed her classical concert examination at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule, and now she made her debut at the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival in the Ordenssaal. (...) Already successful as a jazz pianist, she showed the full range of her skills."
Rondo 05/10
"'Nobody Knows' exudes brilliance and glory, brims with lightness and groundedness. Expectations are tangibly fulfilled. (...) Cliché-free, sometimes gently grooving, sometimes gallantly driving, sometimes relaxing, sometimes lovingly rubbing."
montersandcritics.de 05/10
"The new album by the pianist, composer, and singer with a crystal-clear voice combines a flood of ideas from romantic solo piano to ensemble pieces influenced by India, Eastern Europe, South America, current and historical jazz, and classical music."
AUDIO (SOUND TIP) 05/10
"She has a voice, a universe, lyrics, music, and a piano on which she improvises with a lot of temperament. (...) All of this is incredibly fresh and would almost reconcile us with vocal jazz ... probably because it isn't."
Jazz Magazine 04/10
"In the end, through her singing, she adds only another exquisite color to the radiant spectrum of her music." Carina Prange
"This young lady can groove devilishly forward in the trio (...) indulge in complex, far-reaching single-note excursions, and press powerful block chords into the musical happening with enchanting lightness. She is capable of stringing together the notes beautifully romantic and profound in the densely interwoven interplay (...) Hats off to this album." Michael Stürm
JAZZ PODIUM 04/10
