At just 26 years old, the keyboard virtuoso and composer Marc Perrenoud surpasses himself on his second CD: incredible imagination in his melodies, a destructive force, tangible lyrical intensity, original, wonderful compositions: The incredibly captivating music of the Marc Perrenoud Trio embodies and combines the best of today's jazz from around the world.
The trio's CD program includes original compositions as well as various standards, which the three Swiss jazz musicians interpret with their own intensity, a lot of joy of playing, and plenty of groove and energy.
Marc Perrenoud (piano) was born in Geneva in 1981. He studied at the Geneva Conservatory until 2001 and graduated from the Ecole de Jazz in Lausanne in 2006. Perrenoud performs with numerous jazz ensembles throughout Switzerland, France, and Germany and participates in several festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Festival Jazz Lugano, Sunside (Paris), La Défense (Paris), Cairo Opera House, Buenos Aires, and Rosario (ARG). Additionally, he has won several awards, including the "Montreux Jazz Chrysler Award" in 2003, the Friedlwald Foundation Scholarship in Zurich in 2005, and the prize for best soloist at the International Jazz Festival in Bern in 2006 (Trio). Perrenoud has already played with Baenz Oester, Nicolas Maret, Grégoire Maret, Bertrand Blessing, Nicolas Masson, Marco Muller, Pierre Audétat, Sylvain Ghio, Ivor Malherbe, Stefano Saccon, among others.
