product description
Helmut Eisel - clarinet; Sebastian Voltz - Fender Rhodes; Mario Bartone - bass; Dirk Leibenguth - drums
Frank Sinatra, that mysterious charmer with the smoky voice, once staged his journey as a tightrope walk between euphoria and psychosis - ecstatically high, deeply melancholic. What a setting for the creative Klezmer musician Helmut Eisel, who has dedicated himself to the mysterious fascination of Sinatra in a truly unheard-of way.
For TALKING SINATRA, Helmut Eisel has teamed up with the adventurous pianist Sebastian Voltz on the keyboard to create an excitingly unconventional band project. Driven by Mario Bartone on electric bass and Dirk Leibenguth on vibrant drums, Eisel & Voltz make the highlights of the 1930s as well as their own captivating Klezmer-swing mix shine and roar in dense instrumental constellations - in colors of erotic red or pitch-black, vividly colorful or deep blue, and always with a strong addictive factor. The clarinet hisses, chirps, scolds, and clicks in rough Sinatra slang, only to then mesmerize the audience with the most beautiful melodies of showbiz history. Highly emotional and born from the moment...
