product description
Italy is too small for this man!
With Fabrizio Consoli, after Gianmaria Testa and Paolo Conte, a convincing singer from Italy finally graces the German stages.
With his musical blend of tango, Latin, and jazz, seasoned with a well-dosed touch of Italo-pop, Fabrizio Consoli conquers audiences of all ages.
In Italy, Fabrizio Consoli has been a sought-after musician since the 1980s and has been hired by prominent Italian colleagues such as Eugenio Finardi, Alice, Mauro Pagani, and C. de André for studio recordings and tours throughout Europe. He is regularly invited to the Notte delle Chitarre and has performed at the prestigious Festival della Canzone Italiana in Sanremo.
He writes successful songs for other Italian artists and film scores, and in 2004 he was awarded the Piero Ciampi Prize for his compositions.
In Germany, Fabrizio Consoli is known from clubs and festivals such as the Bardentreffen in Nuremberg, where he performs to enthusiastic audiences.
Whether alone with his guitar, in a duo with pianist Gigi Rivetti, or in a full quartet formation with drummer Silvio Centamore and trumpeter and flugelhornist Fabio Buonarota – Fabrizio Consoli knows how to captivate his listeners immediately, filling every room with his vibrant energy.
Capturing this energy on record is not an easy feat for many musicians, but Fabrizio Consoli and his fellow musicians excel at this challenge!
Now, after numerous CD productions in Italy, Fabrizio Consoli is releasing an album for the first time on a German label. His album "10" will be released on September 23, 2016, on CHAOS.
Fabrizio Consoli sings love songs. But it's not always about romantic love, about the love between man and woman. Instead, he tells stories distilled from everyday scenarios with keen observation. People with all their shortcomings and passions, the ambivalences in culture and politics on the narrow line between power and powerlessness, sometimes only a hairline separating exuberant joy from tumult and chaos – these are the subjects of his songs.
With an alert mind, Fabrizio Consoli absorbs the entire spectrum of life and places it in a larger context. Mindfulness, respect, and love – as written down more than 2000 years ago in the Ten Commandments – are the ethical foundation of all coexistence for him, which he poetically elaborates in the tradition of the great Cantautori.
The Ten Commandments also serve as the namesake for the album "10" – on which he presents a very worldly interpretation of these beliefs.
But despite the significance of the themes, Fabrizio Consoli's music never, truly never, suffers from moralistic heaviness. He is simply Milanese – through and through. And when he steps onto the (studio) stage, he does so with that natural nonchalance, that unmistakable charisma, which is inseparably linked with Italy and the Italian way of life.
"Poesia per Ballare" – Poetry for Dancing – is what Fabrizio Consoli calls his music. And when the artist from Milan tells his stories of life and love with a voice somewhere between honey and gravel, Italy suddenly feels everywhere...
