Thomas Langer is a professional guitarist, composer, and lecturer for guitar and ensemble playing. Born in 1967 in Rodgau near Frankfurt, he began playing guitar in 1978. Influenced by artists like the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Pat Metheny, The Who, Bill Evans, Mark Knopfler, Joe Pass, and Toots Thielemans, he remains inspired by the fusion of songs, grooves, and good melodies. Complemented by improvisation, interaction, and energetic exchanges with musicians, he creates unique band projects.
On his latest production for 20/21, Thomas Langer combines exactly that:
Catchy melodies with earworm character in songs like "Gousblom Ave," "Root," and "Something Left Unspoken" are paired with captivating Motown-style grooves in "Behorn" or "Two Teens." Moods and narratives of travels are depicted in tracks such as "FaroFaro" and "Home," while the energy of rock 'n' roll infuses rock songs like "Laminar" and "The Green Shed." All of this shapes the program of the new album 20/21.
