A special concert in a special time…

The evening at Bauer Studios will stay with me for a long time. While events were canceled in many places due to the pandemic, we knew how fortunate we were to be able to perform at this legendary venue. Our tour had already taken my trio to some extraordinary places: such as an ancient circus tent and a power plant with the charm of the Roaring Twenties. And now, this longstanding recording studio! A wonderfully intimate place, where recording still takes place with tape machines, and where the spirit of a bygone jazz era lingered above us. We could feel it! It was an intoxicating feeling! Add to that the hundred-year-old lady, who played her 88 keys and one black grand piano so beautifully warm and soft. It was a bright joy. So, it's no wonder that the little dancer in my belly became so lively during the concert. After all, we performed with reinforcement that evening, as I was eight months pregnant. And in front of the stage? It was pin-drop silent. The audience listened so intently, you could have heard a pin drop. The applause afterward was all the more euphoric and very heartfelt. It touched the soul.
