MAGELLANO represents a challenge for Gianni Savelli Media Res: the challenge to create magical music by transcending boundaries of genres, languages, and cultures. The ensemble aims to express itself, play unique music that is deep and personal, reflecting the curiosity and personality of the musicians. Thus, the band explores languages, cultures, and worlds to create an album that brings them satisfaction. Gianni Savelli Media Res is a project founded by saxophonist Gianni Savelli in 2000. The ensemble represents a unique sound based on jazz and inspired by non-European musical traditions and classical music. It's a kind of passion marked by fascinating memories and full of visions.
"In the course of my career, I have played, and I still do, in many different contexts. I have always enjoyed everything I have done. This is so because of an innate curiosity towards any kind of musical expression that I have spontaneously cultivated since my childhood." - Gianni Savelli
