product description

The Army Music Corps 12, named after the former 12th Armored Division headquartered in Veitshöchheim, was established in 1962 in Fürstenfeldbruck as Air Force Music Corps 5. After a brief stint of two years in Nuremberg, the orchestra found its home in the Division headquarters in 1966.

One of the main tasks of the Army Music Corps 12 is troop support at home and abroad. In addition to countless performances at military ceremonies such as ceremonies, parades, and the Grand Tattoo predominantly in southern Germany, the Franconian military orchestra has also been deployed in recent times in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. The orchestra enjoys an excellent reputation as an ambassador of the armed forces in the public eye from all over Franconia, North Baden, and South Hesse to Thuringia and Saxony.

Representing the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) in public is the second task of the Army Music Corps 12. Beneficiary concerts are particularly popular. The orchestra offers the audience a broad repertoire, ranging from traditional military marches, transcriptions of classical overtures, operettas, original compositions for symphonic wind orchestra, film music to big band arrangements, and more. On the international stage, the Army Music Corps 12 has received much praise and recognition during performances in Great Britain, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the USA, and Canada. The orchestra has also been featured in television programs multiple times. Since January 2007, the orchestra has been led by Lieutenant Colonel Burkard Zenglein.
