product description

The most famous choir with the most beautiful Christmas carols!

In 2003, the Montanara Choir celebrated its 45th anniversary. Founded in Stuttgart - not in South Tyrol - this choir has been captivating its audience and fans with its unmistakable sound and versatile repertoire for four and a half decades, setting standards in German choral history.

Concerts at home and abroad, countless recordings, as well as radio and television appearances have made this unique ensemble famous. The first recordings of songs like "Jenseits des Tales", "Es löscht das Meer die Sonne aus", and especially the song "La Montanara" from Trentino were hits from the start, and are still highly requested in radio request shows. So, it was only natural to name the newly founded choir after one of these huge successes. "The" Montanara Choir was born!

From its very beginning to today, the choir has consisted exclusively of trained singers. This has allowed the choir to maintain its unmistakable profile and highest artistic quality over the years. While the choir's repertoire initially focused almost exclusively on folk choir singing, the ensemble has shown an increasingly diverse range of its vocal abilities over time: In addition to German-language folk songs, which still delight radio listeners and concertgoers, the choir also impresses its audience with excursions into traditional choir repertoire, as well as international folklore and evergreens.

The musical collaboration with other successful interpreters of folk music, such as the "Trumpeter from the Black Forest", Walter Scholz, has also resulted in beautiful melodies becoming unique arrangements. The unique constellation of this male choir may be the reason why the Montanara Choir is more in demand than ever at concerts, festive events, radio and television broadcasts, and of course on CD!
