Joseph Moog was born in December 1987 in Neustadt and began piano lessons at the age of four. Shortly thereafter, he started composing. From 1998 to 2001, he was a pre-college student at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe under Prof. Sontraud Speidel and attended master classes with Prof. John O’Connor in Dublin and Prof. Miguel Proenca in Rio de Janeiro. He won numerous prizes and awards, including at "Jugend musiziert" at the regional and national levels, the Matthaes Piano Competition in Stuttgart, as well as scholarships from the Vienna Music Seminar and the Richard Wagner Association.
