As early as 2015, trumpeter Ryan Carniaux became acquainted with the unique atmosphere and sound quality of the live recordings as a sideman at the studio concert with Johannes Mössinger. The tour with the internationally renowned drumming legend Rakalam Bob Moses in summer 2017 offered the opportunity to play his own studio concert with a larger line-up.
In 2017, trumpeter Ryan Carniaux and percussionist Rakalam Bob Moses released their duo CD "Opportunity for Unity". During the duo's release tour, they came up with the idea of recording new music with a larger ensemble at Bauer Studios Ludwigsburg.
With Plume on saxophone, Mike Roelofs on piano, Demian Caboud on bass and Samuel Dühsler on drums, sound engineer Adrian von Ripka was faced with a great ensemble and the challenge of recording two drums simultaneously direct-to-2-track.
The result is an album in which masters of improvisation with different cultural backgrounds present themselves in a modern, melodic jazz.
