product description
As the grand finale of the anniversary year celebrating 20 years of Pop@MHL, Volume IV of the album series LübeckSounds is being released under the programmatic title THIS IS THE FUTURE. The album was musically presented on December 18, 2024, at Treibsand in Lübeck.
Tim Haas, composer and master's student at the MHL, explains:
"For me, THIS IS THE FUTURE is a piece meant to remind us that the future begins today and that every moment holds the potential to shape what lies ahead. Just as the piece itself came into being, I envision the future: different musical styles, instruments, and people from diverse backgrounds coming together to create a whole where everyone ultimately finds their place.
The music moves between orchestral classical, groovy club sounds, and free improvisation. The call THIS IS THE FUTURE resounds in many different languages. As a nod to diversity, the composition is available in three different versions: a long version featuring extensive improvisations, a single version, and a remix produced by Jan Stöber, a former student of the Lübeck University of Music.
For Tim Haas, the album release marks the conclusion of his bachelor's and master's studies at the Lübeck University of Music, where he focused on exploring and creating new ways to communicate music."
