product description
Marialy Pacheco - grand piano (Bösendorfer Imperial)
Live - Direct-To-2-Track - A A A
180 g Audiophile Vinyl Pressing
LIMITED EDITION
In 2014, Marialy Pacheco's album INTRODUCING was released on Neuklang, with which she impressed with her self-confident style and Cuban temperament. Now she presents another facet of her musical diversity and brings a piece of Cuba to Ludwigsburg for the STUDIO KONZERT. For this recording, the pianist and official "Bösendorfer Artist" selected her "favorite pieces". These are both current compositions and arrangements, as well as older works by Marialy Pacheco. She draws on Cuban folk music and transforms it into a completely new form. Her exploration of musical tradition creates a balance between seriousness and technical sophistication on the one hand and lightness and Caribbean fire on the other.

Press:
"The latest studio album by the Cuban pianist Marialy Pacheco, who lives in Germany, brings its listeners within arm's length of the Bösendorfer Imperial. Pacheco shows a strong penchant for pianistic romanticism (Brahms' "Wiegenlied"), but also for speed and complex, rhythmic shifts (her own composition "Metro")."
