Jazz meets Tyrolean humor, nostalgic swing embraces contemporary driving beats.
GRAPHA is a miniature big band that impresses not only with stylistic versatility but also with playing across all dynamic levels.
Although the band does not include a harmony instrument, the range of sound possibilities is vast. The small lineup allows for chamber music-like playing as well as expansive big band sound. With outstanding instrumentalists, the music provides room for numerous solos. The rhythm section continually inspires the sensitive brass quartet to creative brilliance. Driven by the musicians' boundless joy of playing, the original compositions and arrangements by bandleader Raphael Huber promise cheerfulness, Tyrolean wit, but also sensitivity, with delicately and almost sacred sounds.
