"Peter and the Wolf" is one of the most famous fairy tales and with Sergei Prokofiev's musical adaptation, it's a classic for both young and old. This version features completely revised texts by Juri Tetzlaff, the Ki.Ka (German children's channel) moderator. The music is interpreted by the Southern German Brass Soloists - ProFive in an exciting brass arrangement.
Similarly, "Carnival of the Animals," with a new text and interpretation by the brass quintet, enriches the well-known story with an interesting narrative twist.
The lovingly designed booklet with colorful illustrations in poster format complements the production, which is sure to delight both young audiences and seasoned classical music enthusiasts.
Juri Tetzlaff comes from a family of musicians. His father is a cellist and his mother plays the flute. Since 1995, he has been hosting children's and youth programs on ARD/ZDF and Ki.Ka. He also writes scripts (SWR-Tigerentenclub). "With 'Peter and the Wolf' and 'Carnival of the Animals,' I want to inspire my listeners to enjoy music and consider learning to play an instrument."
The Southern German Brass Soloists - ProFive represent artistic excellence coupled with infectious joy of playing. The members are all professors at German music universities: Hermann Klemeyer (flute), Jochen Müller-Brincken (oboe), and Albrecht Holder (bassoon) at the Würzburg University of Music, Manfred Lindner (clarinet) at the Folkwang University of Music in Essen, and Jan Schroeder (horn) at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
