Jade Quartett
At the founding of the Jade Quartet in 2001, the four musicians came from Taiwan, China, and Korea. Since then, Finnish violist Iiro Rajakoski has joined the ensemble, comprising violinists Hanlin (Annelie) Liang (Taiwan), Hyun Ji (Lisa) You (South Korea), and cellist Shih-Yu (Gina) Yu-Holz (Taiwan).
Numerous national and international awards, along with an intensive concert career, attest to the unique quality of the quartet.
Highlights of their joint career include winning the 3rd prize at the 5th Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in 2005, the 1st prize at the nationwide university competition in Germany in 2004, and the Iris Marquart Prize. The Jade Quartet was also a fellow of the Villa Musica Foundation and the Karl Klingler Foundation. In 2005, they were named "Musicians of the Year 2005" in the string quartet category due to their competition success in Osaka. In May 2007, they won the 1st prize at the international interpretation competition for contemporary string quartets "Klangbrücke" in Munich.
