The CD showcases Klezmer as a unifying element that connects styles, people, and cultures. My two duo formations couldn't be more different: on one side, Birke Falkenroth, an outstanding classical harpist who, through our collaboration, became increasingly passionate about Klezmer and whose rare instrument adds a unique touch to Klezmer music. On the other side, Sebastian Voltz, overflowing with playfulness and improvisational spirit, on the piano for "Swinging Klezmer." Working with both duo partners is always different for me – and always a great joy to create music together in dialogue. We wanted to convey this intriguing contrast with this CD.
