product description
This work is an invitation to an extraordinary encounter, both human and artistic, between the brass ensemble NAMESTRA and the renowned trombonist Michel Becquet. He is one of the best French brass players worldwide, having performed in major concerts and won numerous international competitions. Additionally, he teaches in Lyon and Lausanne.
With finesse, sensitivity, and a unique richness of sound, the ensemble narrates the Adventure of the Montgolfier Brothers, composed for them by conductor Rémy Abraham, before moving on to Richard Galliano's Chat Pitre.
Thanks to their orchestral qualities, the brass players tackle some of the most beautiful symphonic works: excerpts from Grieg's Holberg Suite and Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony, emotive melodies including the sublime Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot and the Toreador from Bizet's Carmen, as well as music specifically composed for brass, such as Sparkes' Overture or Appermont's Fanfare for a Friend.
Moreover, the ensemble takes the listener on a journey with Pottock all the way to the Celtic regions of Monesuch, where they celebrate a traditional Anglo-Saxon Christmas with "Mary’s Boy Child."
We hope you enjoy the journey.
