Vladyslav Sendecki

Vladyslav Sendecki is regarded as one of the most powerful and creative solo pianists of our time.

"Music always means freedom to me. Freedom and the exchange of thoughts and emotions - with the audience, other musicians, the instrument, and myself."

In 1981, Sendecki followed his musical passion and immigrated first to Switzerland and then to Germany. It was not only a courageous step towards freedom but also a rise to the premier league of jazz. Since then, he has played alongside jazz giants such as Joe Henderson, Lenny White, Marcus Miller, Randy and Michael Brecker, Jaco Pastorius, Billy Cobham, Till Brönner, Klaus Doldinger, and many more. Since 1996, he has been a permanent ensemble member of the renowned NDR Big Band.

Despite all international success and his connection to his chosen home in Germany, Vladyslav Sendecki cannot and does not want to deny his roots – not his love for Poland and not his love for classical music. Like no other contemporary pianist and composer, he breaks through the artificial barriers between classical music and jazz. He actively applies this passion to experience and live music as a globally connecting, socially, and culturally transcending asset as the artistic director of the star Jazz Festival.
