WHAT REMAINS OF DREAMING is often quite different, but usually barely tangible. Karin Grabein's songs sound as if they were precisely born from these "in-between moments" of remembered dream sequences, sometimes wistfully looking back, then again awake, facing the new reality.
Dreams are something very personal: whether very concrete or in misty images, they blend desires with memories, experiences with the imaginary, fears with secret hopes. What remains of them after waking up, Karin Grabein captures in her songs, thereby drawing a mosaic between reality and inner imagery.
In addition to the multifaceted arrangements, which show a wide compositional variety ranging from duo parts to orchestral brass sections, the multilingualism of the lyrics is another special feature of the album. With a twinkle in the eye, the small stories and personal moments offer a brief glimpse into the singer's intimate sphere.
