The Björn Lücker Berlin Ensemble combines energetic, contemporary jazz with lively interplay, expressive improvisations, and great emotional depth. Based on their acclaimed debut album “Tea For Five,” the band presents a colorful program ranging from blues influences to hard bop, free jazz, and free forms—with clear references to Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, and the great Berlin jazz tradition, but always with their own signature style. The five outstanding musical personalities merge into a powerful collective that plays with form, freedom, and intensity, effortlessly dissolving the boundaries between tradition and modern adaptation. A concert full of energy, subtle abstraction, and musical adventurousness.
