Since 2013, Kami has been in continuous development. The lineup led by guitarist and composer Pascal Charrier introduces their new repertoire as an octet with "SPRING PARTY."
Kami originated as a quintet in 2004 under the direction of Pascal Charrier. After two albums and many shared experiences, the project evolved into an octet.
Influenced by musicians such as Steve Coleman, Carla Bley, Marc Ducret, Magic Malik, or Morton Feldman, Pascal Charrier has composed an entirely new repertoire for the octet. He creates music that is shaped by the tradition of contemporary jazz, constantly searching for a musical form that moves between two axes: trance (with innovative rhythms, sound overlays, and long cycles) and sound texture (original sounds of the instruments and electronic effects).
