Grand Ensemble Koa

The Grand Ensemble Koa is a group of 9 musicians playing electric and innovative jazz, blending improvisations, contemporary composition techniques, intricate grooves, and electro-rock sounds. The band was founded in 2008 by bassist and composer Alfred Villayleck.
In 2010, the Grand Ensemble Koa worked on a piece inspired by Alfred Jarry's "Ubu-Roi," incorporating contemporary compositions, satirical theater, and sound painting. The album "Koa-Roi" was released in 2012 and received the "Jazz Album Prize" from the French magazine "Jazzman."
