Ensemble Tromba Festiva
The Baroque Trumpet Ensemble Berlin, founded by Johann Plietzsch in 1990, specializes in trumpet music from 1500 to 1800. The ensemble's repertoire spans from the earliest documented ceremonial and festive music of courtly trumpet groups to the music of the heyday of clarino playing in Europe, from the late 17th to the mid-18th century, and includes trumpet parts in classical orchestras.
The core of the ensemble consists of four Baroque trumpets and timpani. Collaborations with singers and additional instrumentalists allow the ensemble to showcase the vast range of musical possibilities offered by historical instruments, from intimate chamber music to resounding courtly musical splendor, providing the audience with a close experience of the rich sound palette of early music.
