The duo Dune was founded in 2017 and consists of drummer Rafaël Koerner and flutist Fanny Ménégoz. They combine two rarely associated instruments and are on a quest for simplicity rather than artificiality, earnestness, and playfulness that hark back to the origins of music: rhythm, melody, communication, improvisation.
Together, they create a distinctive sound with a diverse repertoire of original compositions and covers, such as those by French pianist Benoit Delbecq. Dreamy melodic lines, balanced rhythmic movements, dense and refined improvisations, as well as interactions and a willingness to take risks surround the unique sounds of the Dune duo.
