The Military Band of the German Armed Forces is a representative military wind orchestra of the Bundeswehr, stationed in Berlin.
It is deployed alongside the Guard Battalion for ceremonial honor duties. This includes state receptions for the Federal President, receptions for the Federal Chancellor and the Minister of Defense, as well as for the inspectors of the branches of the German Armed Forces. The repertoire also includes concerts with the large symphonic wind orchestra as well as smaller chamber music ensembles. The Military Band also has a corps of fifes and drums (Spielmannszug) with which it can perform the "Großer Zapfenstreich" (Grand Tattoo), often in conjunction with the Guard Battalion. The Military Band currently consists of approximately 120 professional and conscripted soldiers.
The concerts of the Military Band are well-received by the audience.
