Big Four

With their fourth album "SEVEN YEARS," the quartet Big Four, led by saxophonist Julien Soro, celebrates seven years of successful collaboration and shared musical exploration.
These recordings provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate with the talented trumpeter Quentin Ghomari, who serves as the musical force behind the quintet Papanosh and is also a colleague in the large ensemble Ping Machine. In this repertoire co-composed by each musician, the trumpeter brings his own impulses, expanding the spectrum with a new color.
Moreover, it was time to take on special challenges. For Julien Soro, this meant composing a suite: "Temps Libre" – four movements metaphorically determining the rhythm of our existence: Dream, Walk, Run, and Dance.
For Big Four, it was crucial to record this CD live, capturing the immediate energy, unconditional interaction, and the musicians' freedom in this experience "without a safety net."
The initial listening of this new opus evokes a certain nostalgia, conjuring the image of witnessing one's own growth and feeling the passage of years. Beyond these thoughts, the desire persists to create with music a space for play, communication, and fulfillment
