KARABASH is the intersection of the three distinct musical souls of the Belém Trio, each with its unique personal stories and musical backgrounds. Seemingly far apart, their compositional visions intertwine to form a common thread and merge into a harmonious alchemy of jazz music.

The experimental spirit of the compositions on Karabash was driven by the desire to produce a jazz album that reflects the musical lives, emotions, and imaginations of the three protagonists as a contemplative and shadowy narrative, providing a glimpse into the gradually matured musical identity since their first encounter. Jazz, classical, progressive, and rock equally influence the style of the songs. Some evolved serendipitously, while others were written many years ago and reworked in a more modern guise.

The shadowy atmosphere characterizing this debut finds expression in the alternation between pieces of radiant unrestrained dynamics on one hand and intense yet gentle melancholy on the other.
