product description
Mario Freivogel (Narrator)
Duo Leccornia: Willy Freivogel - Flute, Siegfried Schwab - Guitar
A Bird Rarely Flies Alone
Actor Mario Freivogel and the excellent musicians of Duo Leccornia create a wonderful unity of literature and music on "The Bird Has Humor - Wilhelm Busch and His World."
Wilhelm Busch - charismatic, eccentric, shy, curious, melancholic, and humorous - an extraordinary person with some contradictions and a major influencer on cultural and social events in Germany. This production paints a vivid picture of Wilhelm Busch by juxtaposing excerpts from his autobiography - "From Me About Myself" - with well-known and lesser-known poems, fables, and short stories (including "The Dream" and "Diogenes and the Naughty Boys"). Through these small private anecdotes and experiences, the listener can delve into the phenomenon of Busch and the sources of his works. With the sensitive recitation by Mario Freivogel, it is not difficult to empathize with Busch's private experiences, his worldview, his happiness, and his crises.
The experienced Duo Leccornia with Willy Freivogel (flute) and Siegfried Schwab (guitar) provides a perfect framework with works from the classical, romantic, and 20th-century compositions. Works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Ernesto Nazareth, F.J. Gossec, Emil Desportes, Leonardo de Call, and Siegfried Schwab can be heard.
